++BACK AND BETTER THAN BEFORE.++ I have adjusted the terrain per previous posts. Located around beautiful Lake Shermerville at the west end of Northbrook.
I lived in Northbrook for over 30 years and used to ride my bike here when I was a kid. This was about as far as I was allowed to go on bicycle. I hope you enjoy this park as much as I did! This park has many activities for the whole family to enjoy: "a monstrous sled hill for winter fun or year ‘round cross country runners, a picturesque man-made lake, (Lake Shermerville) for fishing, a full service tennis facility, complete with eight asphalt courts and two clay courts, a practice wall and indoor Pro Shop; two baseball diamonds, three soccer fields, And a delightful playground for children. a scenic 1 1/4-mile walking/jogging trail surrounds the park facilities for leisurely strolls or definitive workouts." The name of the lake, Lake Shermerville came from Northbrook's original name: Shermerville. It was changed in 1923 after the town's 500 residents held a contest to pick a new town name--Northbrook was on the map! Cache information: This is a very busy park at times with many joggers and dog walkers on the paths. Fishermen too. The Northbrook Police like to congregate in the parking lot eating their lunch and doing paperwork. (allegedly
