Located appx elevation 100' above sea level! No need to climb the bluffs to get to this one. (You can stand on the sidewalk while accessing the cache). Sorry, log only, not big enough for any trade items.
Located just next to one of our favorite campsites at Carlsbad State Beach. Campground is open during daylight for pedistrian traffic, or you can approach from any other direction anytime. You can park at the top of the hill in the last parking spot at North Ponto Beach public lot or go into the camp area by asking the guard for a 15 minute free pass.
Please see the photos of our last camp while at site #67. We like this space even better than #186. I planted this cache so you would have another excuse to visit our lovely beach. As you can see, It can be beautiful even in the month of February. If you visit at low tide, check out the tide pools nearby. We saw lots of sea life exploring around the wet rocky areas of the tide pools. See crabs, lobster, octopus, sea urchin, etc. Please post any photos you take of the area and above all, Enjoy!
Cache is chest high. Please be as discreet as possible... lots of beachgoers around!
