Geocache Description:

This journey is part of a cache series commemorating the travels of Leatherman in the late 1800s.

Parking can be found in the vicinity of N41 42.559, W73 00.255.

Leatherman once roamed SW Connecticut and SE New York from 1858 to 1889. He traveled a 365-mile loop between the Connecticut and Hudson rivers. Approximately every month he would repeat his journey. The man spoke primarily with grunts or gestures and dressed in crudely stitched leather from his hat to his shoes. The suit was made of soft-tanned calfskin leather and weighed about sixty pounds. He would sleep outside year-round mostly in caves around Connecticut and New York. More information on Leatherman please use the link (visit link)

This leg of the Leathermans Loop will take you to Tory Den in Burlington. The Leathermans cave and immediate surroundings show signs of being frequented by muggles, so I've placed the cache .11 past the Leathermans Cave. The terrain is primarily a 3, with just a bit of climbing that earns it a 4.
After you've found the cache, you can turn around, or you can continue along the blue trail until you intersect Greer Road. Go right and follow the road until you come to the swampy pond (about a mile, I think - the suggested parking for Boulder Cache) then head back into the woods on the blue trail. This route takes you through the Mile of Ledges, and past the Boulder Cache. Round trip is under 4 miles. If you opt for there and back, it's under 2.

Significant snow would be a problem.
