Toa Norik: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

En enkel microcache på Djurgården, nära Nordiska museet/ A simple microcache close to Skansen and the Nordic Museum at Djurgården.

In English: This Villa was built in the 1870s and the so called cork-king, C A Wicander, bought it and let rebuild it to what it looks like today. The cork empire of Wicander extended round the Baltic Sea, in Finland, Russia and the Baltic states and the owner became so rich that he could afford to buy, restore and donate the manor of Harpsund to the Swedish government.

Not bad, if you consider the fact that cork destroys 2-8 per cent of all bottled wine (due to the so called cork disease)...unlike screw capsules and plastic corks - that don't affect the wine at all.

As an homage to the cunning Wicander there is a wine cork in the cache.

This cache is rated.
