Geocache Description:

Kahalahala Beach aka Lumaha'i Beach

The east side of Lumaha’i is known as Kahalahala Beach. Dangerous for swimming, the two beaches make up one of most photographed scenes in Hawaii. There are several lookouts along the road between the first parking area on the east end and the larger parking area on the west end near Lumaha’i Stream. Stay off the rocks near the shore. Park near the east end (Hanalei side) at the pullout area at the curve just before mile marker 5 at N22,12.856, W159, 31.118. Follow the trail about 200 ft west of the parking area to the beach about 100 ft. below. Do not take the trail at the parking lot or the first trail over the cliff by the posts. It is a fairly easy walk down to the beach and then a short walk along the beach.

Small note on cache maintenance: Kauai Ohana has graciously offered to assist with any needed cache maintenance between our visits to the island. Thanks!
