Geocache Description:

This cache will take you through a few parks found along the North Hill in Pendleton, Oregon. What you will be looking for is a magnetic hide-a-key box. You will need to bring a writing utensil, and possibly scratch paper. As you are en route to finding the cache, be sure to enjoy some of the architecture displayed on the North Hill.

Step 1: The first set of coordinates takes you to a park where kids love to spend time playing. Unfortunately this park burned last winter, and was recently rebuilt. However the name plates of kids were not included, so the actual coords are listed below which lead to the second stage.

  • Abigail Grace age will be represented by the letter A
  • Ginny Kearns age will be represented by the letter B
  • Nicholas Lacey age will be represented by the letter C
  • Nikkola Cook age will be represented by the letter D
  • Corinna Cook age will be represented by the letter E
  • Marissa Lovell age will be represented by the letter F
  • Jeneal Merriman age will be represented by the letter G
  • Sonja Carlson age will be represented by the letter H
  • Johnny Stuvland age will be represented by the letter I
  • Zane Baltzor age will be represented by the letter J

Proceed to the next set of coordinates located at (N) 45 40.846 & (W) 118 47.948

Step 2: This second stop is another park found nestled in the trees on the North Hill. You will need to answer the following questions in order to obtain the third set of coordinates. Again, each answer will be represented by a letter, in which will be used for the last set of coordinates.

There is reference to a man who served with distinction as an editor who always demanded the best for his community:

  • let the year born be represented by ABCD,
  • and the year he died be represented by EFGH.
  • Next, take his age, subtract 11, then divide by 15, and let this number be represented by the letter I.

Proceed to the next set of coordinates located at (N) IGº IH.CBD & (W) AABº IC.GEH

Step 3 : This final set of coordinates is the location of the cache, located in yet another park on the North Hill.

After finding the cache, sit and enjoy the view for a bit.
