Geocache Description:

An occasion to visit some lonely folks waiting by the road side.

This resting place is the Upper Cibolo Community Cemetery,it has also been called Patton Cemetery. The land was donated in 1873 by Felix Daughtery and he was buried here in 1910 at age 83. His grandchild rests here also, "Baby Saner.” Twelve known graves are located on these grounds, but only six headstones with legible carving exist. The last burial occurred in 1938.
I don’t think these folks have many visitors, so feel free to adopt an ancestor. Create an imaginary memory and fondly remember your new relative.
Local folks keep an eye on this cemetery and may stop to say hi, but they understand "Just looking" or “Cleaning up a little.” If a CITO opportunity exists, please help out.
Walk through the grounds with great reverence for the loved ones resting here. The cache is inside. I have no problem with this. If you don’t go in, you won’t read and if you don’t read, you won’t wonder about the person buried there – and then they are completely forgotten.

The last names of those resting here: Daughtery 1910; Dedecker, Griffin, Harrell 1884; Herrin 1887; Herrin 1932; Howell 1938; Patton 1900; Patton, Saner, Young; Unknown 1 adult, 1 child.

This location is accessible for those with disabilities, but assistance will be needed to reach the container.

Park on the ROW in front of the cemetery. The cemetery driveway is precarious for all but compact cars. Please be careful - GRASS FIRES ARE EASILY STARTED BY HOT VEHICLES!
