Geocache Description:

This cache site is named after my son who introduced me to mountain biking in this area some time ago. It's a great 2 mile (one way) hike or ride through the forest, with gentle rolling terrain. If you're a MTBer, this is one of the nicest singletracks in the area, and it gets you into the whole Cedro Peak trail system.

Driving Instructions (plagiarized from The Puzzzler): From I-40, take exit 175 south to Tijeras. From the traffic light in Tijeras follow these odometer readings. 0.0 Go south on NM 337 (aka Old Highway 14). 5.0 Turn left (east) on Juan Tomas Road. 5.7 Turn left (northward) on Forest Road 252. Proceed to PARK waypoint and, well, park your car.

Walk (or bike) back down the road about 0.15 miles to TRLHD waypoint and join the 252B trail. Continue straight ahead at the Y about 50' in from the road. Follow the trail for 1.9 miles until you see the 252C trail junction. Turn right and go 0.10 mile to the Meadow 2 Track (trail 12) marker. The cache site is about 100' behind the sign. It's an ammo can and initial items include an unactivated New Mexico geocoin (keep it as FTF or circulate it: I thought I'd do something special for my first cache), a geocaching water bottle, thermometer keychain, a Sulley wobbler, and a "Purple Promise" pin.

If fortune favors your quest, you may hear bagpipes at the halfway point. Friday afternoons with nice weather seem to bring out the piper.

Once you reach the site, sit and take a load off for a minute as you ponder your next move. A visual search will be required as the coordinates are not exact, but this should prove no problem for the motivated cacher.

For those who want to know more about this area, a trail map is available produced by the Two Wheel Bicycle Shop. The ranger station in Tijeras sells them.

The Meadow Trail (#12) that you're on will also take you to Cibola Conundrum #2 if you follow it about 2 miles north. Additionally, Cibola Conundrum #4 is right up the road from where you left your car.
