Reginald G. Benningham is an expert on both mathematics and colors. He has tremendously acute vision, and can distinguish shades that look indentical to the rest of us. At the same time, he understands the mathematical relationships among the colors -- their gamut, their transformations, their representations. That's why he is so sought-after in the imaging world. Everyone knows they can count on him.
One day recently, Reginald received the following email message:
My Dear Reginald:
You do not know me, but I am a huge fan. I loved your recent treatise on "The Importance of Being Purple." But I have a secret of incredible importance for you. The government of my country has recently decided to remove almost all color from our currency, printing it only in different shades of dark blue. I am convinced that only you can stop them. I have therefore hidden for you the details of their nefarious plan at a location that only you will be able to decipher. The two directions are opposite, yet still fundamentally the same. Use my name to help. I know I can count on you!
Yours Truly,
Count Primo Numari

After a short time, and a little thought, Reginald rushed out and found the information. He left a small token at the spot, however, and challenges you to find it, as well. If you can find it and sign the log, then perhaps you, too, understand both mathematics and colors.
P.S. As a result of recent construction, the cache location has moved about 30 feet N of the solution. The hint should get you there.
