This cache has been archived.

Heartland Cacher: Greetings,

It has been a while since I first looked at Fremont Lakes 3 - between the waters. I can't find any recent responses about maintaining this cache so it will be archived and removed from the active cache listings.

When you have repaired this cache, drop me a line and I can review it again for listing on the geocaching.com site.

If you don't care to continue on with this project, please remove any remaining cache bits from the area.

Thanks for your understanding,

Geocache Description:

A nice walk between two lakes, through a wooded area. You are looking for a standard green ammo box.

This cache is located at the Fremont Lakes. Take Military west from Fremont and follow the signs to the lakes. There will be a place to park your vehicle, then walk to the cache.

You will be taking a nice walk through the woods, between two lakes. In the warmer months, there may be some grass and brush to walk through near the cache, but it is not too severe.

Fremont Lakes: Three miles west of Fremont-20 lakes with over 666 acres-unsupervised sand-beach swimming, fishing, boating, water skiing, scuba diving, hiking, and excellent camping area. The Platte River, which borders the city to the south, provides cat fishing.

You will need a state park permit for vehicles to enter. You can buy a day pass for a small fee ($3) if you don't have a park permit. Annual Nebraska Park permits are $17. During the off-season (late fall through early spring) they do not check for permits.

Cache's original contents include: water bottle, bookmarks, post-it notes, deck of cards, lint brush, pencils, beads, letter opener, bracelets, clip-on flashlight, pins, and more!

NOTE: The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission now requires a permit to place geocaches on their land, which I have received. The permits are not difficult to obtain, and I applaud them for supporting this sport. For more information, go to this site: (visit link)
