Slip Zone (Otago) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

status quo: As this cache has been out of action for too long and the cache owner has not responded or performed any maintenance, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to un-archive it.

Geocache Description:

This is an easy cache to get to and only a short distance from the car.

By my estimate it is placed near the bottom of where the Abbotsford landslide came to in 1979. This was an event which had national and international coverage in which some people thought that all of Abbotsford had slid into Green Island. The area further up the slip site has been modified now and it is hard to recognise where the images of houses torn apart would have been.
The cache is a 500ml camo painted snaplock container hidden at ground level and not visible from any distance. It contains a logbook and various small swap items.
Please re-cover the cache when re-hiding it.
