Geocache Description:

A nice easy cache very near parking at Kestor

On the slopes of Kestor, Chagford Common, are the remains of a large ancient settlement with around twenty-seven hut circles.
Apart from the major bronze age remains to be found, evidence of settlement dating back to the Neolithic and even before have been found here. The remains of many huts can be seen, but perhaps more impressive are the associated field systems and boundary walls. Much of this boundary walling is made from massive slabs set edge on, and even today is in use as modern boundaries. It also looks pretty impressive. On the lower slopes, at the outskirts of this settlement, is the impressive Round Pound.
The cache contains £1 for ftf and an excellent cache container which i had made and i could not think of a place to set it!!!!It also contains a GC badge and a small aluminium torch,log book and pen.
