This cache is a tribute to one of my childhood icons, Kirby
Puckett.
Kirby Puckett was the center fielder for the Minnesota Twins for
12 years (1984 - 1995) until he was forced to retire due to vision
lose caused by glaucoma. Kirby was taken from this earth by a
stroke on March 6th, 2006, at the age of 45.
During his years with the Twins he was a 10-time all star and
helped lead the Twins to World Series Championships in 1987 and
1991. Puckett was also a six-time Gold Glover in center field and
had a career batting average of .318.

My Log:
Kirby Puckett was one of my childhood heros. I remember many
evenings listening to John Gordon on WCCO or WNAX broadcast the
Minnesota Twins baseball games. I was always hoping to hear John
Gordon say "touch 'em all, Kirby Puckett" as he did every time
Kirby hit a homerun. Many a time I would pretend to be Puckett
stealing a homerun from the other team by reaching over the
center-field fence and making a terrific outstretched grab. The
1987 and 1991 World Series Championships for the Twins will always
be remembered in my heart and Puckett was a huge part of that!
Thanks for the memories, Kirby!
