This cache will take you about as far East on Elbow Cay as you can go. Enjoy the view and the sea breeze after finding the cache. And, look for sea glass on the beach !
This cache is on Elbow Cay in the Abaco Islands of the Bahamas. Elbow Cay can only be reached by boat, so if you are on vacation, or cruising in your boat in the Bahamas, stop and give it a try. If you are not staying on the island, there is regular ferry service from Marsh Harbour.
Although the cache is along the shore, don't try reaching it by boat from the ocean side. There are lots of reefs off shore on this side of the island, so dock at Hopetown and it's only a short walk from there. Enjoy the town and the lighthouse while you are there.
The cache is a small rubbermaid container and contains a log book and a silver dolphin necklace. The terrain is easy (how hard can walking on a beach be !), but for the last 50 yards you'll need shoes (sandals), as the coral can be hard on your feet. This cache should be fine as long as a really bad hurricane doesn't come through. It's high enough above sea level to be safe and sound.
