Oakland's Own Oasis, Upgraded Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

zuckermn: I hate to archive this one -- I hope that since I lost my job in the immediate area, someone else can place something here. I'd love to find it someday.

Geocache Description:

This is an urban (although the immediate vicinity can be pretended to be otherwise) hide, approximately 1 pint in capacity, covered in camouflage duct tape.

This cache was upgraded as an entry in the Geocachers of the Bay Area (theGBA.net) March 2006 Cache Upgrade Contest. Now there is a place near 19th Street BART for Travel Bugs and swag trading... Anyway, at one point in time it had been my first hide; I have learned a little bit since then, and had been making minor improvements before completely replacing the container.

This cache -- formerly a micro and now a generous small-- has been placed at a hidden jewel of landscaping among Oakland's office buildings. Come and enjoy the location. If you work in the area, bring your lunch (although be aware of an increased need for stealth at lunchtime). As always when caching, bring your own writing implement.

Travel Bugs are welcome to rest here until they can "acquire another host body". ;-7

This cache is accessible Monday through Friday, during daylight/early evening(?) hours. Thank you to the geocachers who have made the attempt at other times, and let me know their results (Kablooey, WalruZ, Cowboy Coffee).

More information about the location -- SPOILER! -- is at this URL. Please be advised that the words "Fifteen" and "Hospital" are not correct, in every place that they appear in that description; it is otherwise a fairly comprehensive description, even with its inaccuracies.

Hints: the first hint will get you to the general location of the cache (as will the above URL). The second hint is a general clue to get you near to the cache, without giving it away on a silver platter. Parking hint: on-street parking is sometimes difficult, during the day. Plan to either grab a parking meter, or combine this with a bank transaction (Thanks, 4Wheeler.).

Have fun!

FTF: k5incali (upgraded); teampipperice (original)! Congratulations! ;-D
