Welcome to
AGA's Caching With the Tide
! We will be hosting this event near the Black Warrior River
in Tuscaloosa, just a short walk from the University of Alabama's
campus. Please bring your chairs and spend some time with the
Central Alabama Geocachers! This event will be
packed with fun filled activities. We plan on having lessons
from some of Alabama's finest Geocachers. We will also have games
for kids and adults so bring the whole family and enjoy your day in
Tuscaloosa!
We will provide hamburgers, hotdogs and the
fixins';all you need to bring is your favorite non-alcoholic
drink, dessert and your favorite portable
chair!
Please log the cache as "Will Attend" and inform us of your
plans along with the number in your party. Now grab your
calendar and mark July 8th as a must attend event! There will
be fun for the entire family!
We plan on hiding additional caches and will give the coordinates
out at the end of the event. This will give many of you a
chance to pick up a FTF in the area. The caches will be
un-listed and will not be submitted to Groundspeak until after the
event. The caches will have a gc number and be active shortly
after the event. To increase interest in the new caches
around town, one will be hidden with a $50 dollar bill as the FTF
prize!
You may find others with money in them as well.
Another FTF cache will have a geocoin as
the FTF prize!
Any boaters? Bring your boat and cruise the
Black Warrior River
. There is a boat landing a short distance up the river from
the event site. You can park your boat about 1/10 of mile
from the event location. Maps will be provided in case you
are interested in boating. See pictures for more
details.
Like to fish? Bring a rod and reel and fish off the banks of
the Black Warrior River!
We will have door prizes, travel bugs to trade, coins to swap, and
other trade items present at the event.
There will be many door prizes for both the kids and adults.
Like Geocoins? You may leave the event with a new coin to add
to your collection! We will have several geocoins as door
prizes.
NOTE:
Travel Bugs - We will be having a Travel Bug Table and we
plan on running it a little differently. Please follow these
rules if you plan on bring a travel bug to this event. First
we will have four baskets setup for the travel bugs. The baskets
will be labeled as North, South, East & West. If you have
a travel bug that wants to head north, please place it in the north
basket and likewise for the other directions as well. Second,
you will need to print out the travel bug detail sheet and place it
in a Ziploc bag (this will help others know the goal for your
travel bug).
