LSA - Spring Break II Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
A sort but steep, and off-trail, climb. When you are going up or down please follow the trail . DO NOT walk on or park on Crocus. Once Crocus turns dirt it becomes a private road and is marked.Coming down is easy to get lost but don't walk toward the houses as they are private property.
Hey, you're almost finished your sophomore year – time for a short break, time to do a little hiking and climbing.
Ever get stuck in traffic, at a light at one of the city's busiest intersections, look up and ask, "How would I climb up there?" Well, here's your chance. Park at the end of Flintridge Dr., start at the first waypoint, follow the dirt path to the second, then start bushwhacking up-hill. Who 'owns' this property? The trail is in the new Union Meadows Open Space, and from the city plat map, the hillside looks to be city owned. With no 'No Trespassing' signs or barbwire fencing, it must be geocaching territory! Nonetheless, the land just to the east is all private property so avoid any temptations to take shortcuts to get to the cache, a mini-container with a couple of useless items and room for some gold coins. (Please contact me first if you plan to drop any off.)
