DIFFICULTY/TERRAIN
This is very easy, wheelchair accessible terrain. An easy walk from
downtown to the plaza. The cache may take a few minutes to find,
but isn't too difficult.
CACHE OVERVIEW
The Memorial Plaza II cache is hidden
in honor of my close friend, a Navy Chief Petty Officer, who is now
in Iraq. [UPDATE: 17-MAR-07 Friend is now back from Iraq deployment
-- made it out in one piece.]
[UPDATE: 03-SEP-08 Friend is being deployed again to
Afghanistan. *sigh*]
This cache is hidden at Indiana War Memorial Plaza, a five-block
area of downtown Indianapolis, which is listed on the National
Register of Historic Places. The cache site is between American
Legion headquarters buildings and south of the Central Library. The
view towards downtown is terrific from this cache site. Enjoy it! I
posted a picture below of the view you have from very near the
cache site.
Southeast of the cache site are standing memorials to fallen
Hoosiers from both the Korean War and Second World War -- stop by
to see those while you're in the area.
