“A Scout is polite to everyone regardless of age or position. He knows that using good manners makes it easier for people to get along.” (Excerpted from Boy Scout Handbook, 11th Edition, copyright 1998 by BSA)
This cache is the fifth in a series of 12 dedicated to the Boy Scouts of America, with each cache named after one of the 12 points of the Boy Scout Law. It is located along the Boy Scout Trail in Petit Jean State Park. See the cache listing for the first cache in this series, “BSA 1: A Scout is Trustworthy” (GCTXEB), for a description of the Boy Scout Trail.
This cache is located along a section of the trail between the Red Bluff Drive loop and the Blue Hole, in the western end of the park. The original cache was a military decon kit container, but after 14 years of service, it was retired and replaced with clear green preform. Please do not put any trade items in it, regardless of how small. It has a pencil in it, but you should bring your own writing utensil of choice, just in case. The cache is not located far from the trail, so bushwhacking is not necessary and please don’t stray off the trail too early.
When you find this cache please take note how it is hidden and replace it back as you found it so those following you may experience the same challenge.
Please note that the park trails close at dusk, in accordance with state park regulations. Do NOT start your search if you cannot be off the trail by nightfall and do NOT search at night.
