Chicks ! Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

GeoChick Snail: Discussed with the other GeoChick... and we decided to archive our "GeoChicks have they Key" series.... two of the parts are missing - other parts will probably be reincarnated as regular caches. "The formula" will remain for now as a 'stand alone' cache-- stay tuned for more changes.

Geocache Description:

bike

The GeoChicks introduced geo-bike riding to the Southern Tier in 2005. Here is the third in a series of five related caches to introduce YOU to the joys of geo-biking! This series can be done by bike or by car, but we encourage you to cycle the 30 mile loop. This is one of our favorite bike trips- traveling alongside the scenic Tioughnioga River from Chenango Forks to Whitney Point, then along the rolling hills of Broome County through Castle Creek and Chenango Bridge, then back to Chenango Forks. There is an optional short-cut (but hilly) which would make the loop around 20 miles if you return to Chenango Forks via East Hill Road after finding the "Formula" cache in Castle Creek. We recommend parking at the Fishing Access area in Chenango Forks and starting your caching journey there, beginning with Gee…, then proceeding in a counter-clockwise loop to Oh?, then to Chicks!, The Formula, and finishing with Gee…Oh? Chicks! have the key. At the first three caches – Gee…, Oh?, and Chicks!, you will find information needed to locate the fifth and final cache. At the fourth cache – The Formula - you will learn how to combine the information into the final cache coordinates for Gee..Oh? Chicks! have the Key . Since the main objective is to get you out riding, the caches are not difficult to find.

"Chicks" is part three of this geo-bike series.  It is a micro cache hidden near an overlooked Revolutionary War memorial in Whitney Point.
Inside you will find a small log book and clues to help you solve "Gee....Oh? Chicks! have the Key", although you may log and get credit for this one without doing any others of the series.
If you do this cache in the summer, make sure you stop at either of the ice cream stand across from the fairgrounds for a delicious ice cream cone.
