Can U Hear the Bell? Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Hunt77-BigRedQ: When the cache was put there no one owned the lot. But we will comply and archive that cache sadly. The children loved this one. This cache has been removed. It had TB "Dale Jr. Mini" in it and we will be moving him on to another active cache.

Geocache Description:

Very easy as its a corner lot.

Follow Lower Bridge road. You can't miss this one.
The school house which is not there now was built in 1913.
District no. 85. It was 36x 48 feet and well constructed.
It had an entry way with pegs on the walls to hang your coats. Windows on both sides of the building. There was also a shelter built for the horses as some children rode them to school. And a outhouse was built out back of the school and its still there. Its now in deschutes county but when the school was in session it was Crook county.
The school ran only 4 short years.
1916 Deschutes county formed from Crook county.
After the school closed it was made into a private dwelling.
I've added a picture of how it once looked.
There are no fences to cross or no "no trespassing" signs that we saw so you are able to look around a bit. The property behind is fenced however but no need for you to cross it.
Standing there thinking about how it was back then....you can almost here the school belling ringing. Which explains the name. :)
