Geocache Description:

CONGRATULATIONS TEAMBUTLER FOR BEING FIRST TO FIND!!!

Disclaimer Note: If you enjoy puzzle caches, have fun and enjoy. If you do not enjoy them, please skip this cache. Thanks!

Each location will take you to places your children will love to visit. Take a break at each location and let your children have some fun.

The difficulty level is based on the need for careful calculations and the time required to complete the cache.

This is a fun, educational and hopefully challenging multi-cache that is based upon the Dr. Seuss book, Oh, the Places You’ll Go! We thought this book was very appropriate for a geocache. The final cache location has several Dr. Seuss-themed items that kids will love. Please trade other Dr. Seuss items or other children's items that are similarly priced, if possible.

Our estimation is that this will take 3-4 hours to complete all four legs of this multi-cache. If you do not have that length of time to devote, break it down into two different outings. You will find two locations within Loop 323 and two locations outside Loop 323.

The coordinates listed above are not directly to the first cache of the hunt, but rather to a good place to park. You will need to use your brain power and decipher the clues below for your first location. Warning: This hunt will take some brain power and very careful calculations. All of the locations will have similar type clues that will require calculations. We recommend taking a calculator, paper, something to write with, and if possible, someone to check your calculations. If you incorrectly calculate even once, you will not be able to locate the cache.

You will be looking for the following containers: 1st stage - oval tupperware container; 2nd stage - thin, rectangular tupperware container; 3rd stage - tall, square tupperware container; 4th and final stage - green ammo container.

This is our first cache to create and hide and is a team effort by OurThreeSonsinTexas and 2mommiesto2boys. We hope you will find it as fun and challenging as we do. Please provide us with any feedback that would help us as we create additional caches.

Below this line is the clue for the first stage of this multi-cache.

Oh, the Places You’ll Go! – Clue #1
by Dr. Seuss

Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You're off to Great Places!
You're off and away!

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You're on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go.

You'll look up and down streets. Look 'em over with care.
About some you will say, "I don't choose to go there."
With your head full of brains and your shoes full of feet,
you're too smart to go down any not-so-good street.

And you may not find any
you'll want to go down.
In that case, of course,
you'll head straight out of town.

It's opener there
in the wide open air.

Out there things can happen
and frequently do
to people as brainy
and footsy as you.

And when things start to happen,
don't worry. Don't stew.
Just go right along.
You'll start happening too.

Oh!
THE PLACES YOU'LL GO!

Clue #1 Calculations:

North Coordinate: (Do not include the title when counting.)

Take the number of pairs of rhyming words and multiply it by the number of contractions. (Hint: A contractions is a shortened form or shortening of a word or phrase, for example, “he’ll” for “he will,” or “Dr.” for “Doctor.”)

_______ pairs X _______number of contractions = _______

Take this number and multiply the number of times “You” was used in any form of the word (you, you’ll, you’re, your, etc.).

________ X _______ number of “You” = _______

Multiply this number by the number of commas (,).

_______ X _______ number of “commas” = _______

Take this number and subtract 121.

_______ - 121 = _______

Take this number and move the decimal point to the left 3 places to determine the North coordinate.

N 32 ° __ __ . __ __ __

West Coordinate: (Do not include the title when counting.)

Take the North coordinate and move the decimal point to the right 3 times, then multiply this number by the number of exclamation points.

_______ X _______ number of exclamation points(!) = _______

Take this number and divide by the number of periods(.).

_______ / _______ number of periods = _______

Take this number and round up or down to the nearest 100.

_______

Take this number and multiply by the number of times any form of the words feet and brains were mentioned.

_______ X _______ number of feet and brains = _______

Take this number and subtract 14420.

_______ - 14420 = _______

Take this number and move the decimal point to the left 3 places to determine the West coordinate.

W 095 ° __ __ . __ __ __

Answer Check: Your final coordinates should be one of the following. If your coordinates do not match one listed, you need to recalculate.

North: 21.082, 19.379, 19.678, 20.219

West: 17.201, 16.374, 16.997, 16.180
