this two stage cache is hidden in the daugherty hill wildlife area. take highway 20 east from marysville for a few miles, turn north on marysville road for ten miles, then turn left on loma rica road. after about 200 yards you will see a gravel parking area on your right. take the trail north from the gate for .39 miles to reach stage 1. the hike is uphill, so be sure to carry water and be careful of the poison oak in the area.
i have placed this cache in honor of the five tribes: cherokee, choctaw, chickasaw, creek, and seminole. these indian nations were forced to leave their ancestral homelands in the 1830's and were pushed across the mississippi river into the oklahoma territory. thousands of native americans died during this forced evacuation, sometimes referred to as the "trail of tears."
