This is a two stage multi cache, the first stage is at a Pioneer Cemetery where you will gather information to lead you to a traditional final stage.
N43 and W79 are assumed for coordinates to be calculated.
This cache is the second in a series and there is a three digit code to collect from under the lid for later use.
Stage One – The Bronte Pioneer Cemetery – At the posted coordinates there is plaque in memory of Milton’s founder in the middle of a bank of reset pioneer gravestones. Here you will need to collect the following information:
The year Jasper Martin was born = A
The year of Jasper’s wife’s death = B
The age of Samuel Sherwood when he died = C
The year of Gilbert Acheson’s death = D
To calculate coordinates for the trailhead:
Divide A by 1000 and subtract from 38.042 to get North minute value, and divide B by 1000 and add to 54.362 to get West minute value.
You can park just off the side of the road close to the trailhead.
To calculate coordinates for the final stage:
Divide C by 1000 and subtract from 36.108 to get North minute value, and divide D by 1000 and add to 54.408 to get West minute value.
Final Stage – The main cache is a small plastic Lock & Lock container containing a log book and some very small trade items. You should see lots of waterfowl on the hike to the final. The cache has been moved from its original location to a better location on the other side of Middle Sixteen Mile Creek. Please note, the cache is nowhere near the train tracks so stay away from them. The cache is on the north side of the creek and there is no actual trail to it but the bushwhacking is not hard.
