A Cache fer Pirates Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

geodarts: This one has probably served its purpose. It probably could have sat there undisturbed except by an occasional cacher, but since the park asks that we remain on trails, the system guidelines would now require caches to be within three feet of trails, and I really don't like caches that take you to bays within the park (SOD carriers that they are), the time had come.

That leaves me with an ammo can full of genuine pirate supplies, so if I stay with this game, perhaps I will find a good spot for a pirate cache and do something with it in the future.

Geocache Description:

Ahoy me hearties! Here be a cache fer buckos who can prove their worth and smartly find the fabled chest.

Shiver me timbers! After Lafitte, Bonney, and Read were driven out o' Pirate's Cove (near present-day Tiburon), they surely journeyed here. Even today, the remains o' their dock can be found. Here, they placed a cache for other pirates to enjoy, but to find it, ye must learn a bit about your mateys by solvin' the puzzle below.

Every pirate must know the Pirate Code and how to sing the Pirate Songs. But different pirates had different codes. Use the list in this link to match the pirate with the codes in the clues below.

A. On the ship Revenge, pirates were forbidden to hit one another.

B. This pirate stated that it was better to be a commander than a common man, but he forbade the common pirate from gambling on board.

C. If a group of pirates sat on a dead man's chest and drank a bottle of rum, how many bottles would they have left?

X. A pickpocket turned into a particularly bloodthirsty pirate, he gave a reward for the FTSS.

Y. One of the most successful pirates had excellent manners, preferred tea to rum, and had onboard musicians. He believed that pirates had to stick together until their goal was accomplished, but had a welfare system for pirates who were injured.

Z. A carpenter by trade, this pirate seems to have had a hard time getting along with others, but set limits on his crew to keep them from meddling with prudent women.

These coordinates will guide you near to where the cache is hidden: N 38° 00.ABC; W 122° 28.XYZ. Once there, ye must use yer pirate skills to find this cache, which is hidden in the pirate manner.

Neither yer peg leg or yer glass deadlight will present any difficulty in reaching yer goal. But approach the cache from below, rather than go straight o'er the hill. Some bushwhackin' mite be required dependin' on the condition of the trail, but nothing a pirate cannot handle. The chest looks remarkably similar t' a cartouche box, originally filled with things from pirate supply stores and treasure from the seven seas. Young pirate lasses and lads are welcome to take a token from the chest. But others must follow the Code:
Shares are to be divided equally, so take only as ye put in and leave the rest fer yer mateys.
After all, it is a cache fer pirates, not a cache t' pirate.
