Geocache Description:

Finding this cache involves a long walk in and is probably one of the least visited and remote Tors on Bodmin Moor.
The walk to the cache is through some of the best scenery the moor has to offer and anyone making the effort to get here to hunt this wee beastie out will be rewarded with stunning views of Cornwall’s highest summits.

The nearest you can get by car is a place called Candra (SX12057 77928) but parking is quite limited and be sure not to obstruct any farm traffic. This the shortest walk in, which is approximately 3 miles, is fairly flat and follows a path to the remote farm house at Garrow, the path then continues on to Brown Willy. Shortly after Garrow you will cross two foot bridges, around 600 meters after this leave the path and head south up onto the tor.

The only safe way in from the A30 side is to walk to Brown Willy from Bolventer and follow the way marked path from the summit of Kernow’s high point. Do not try a short cut from this direction as the moor is crisscrossed by rivers which are a lot harder to cross than they look, also there are some nasty bogs to trap the weary traveller.

As with all moorland walks be prepared for bad weather and dress accordingly.
