Geocache Description:

There is no street parking. You will either have to park in the St. Vinny's Parking and walk up the sidewalk or if weather is nice you can pull slightly into the cemetary from the road - one car only.

The St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran cemetery is located on the west side of Highway 175 in Slinger between the downtown area and Highway 60 to the south. There are 86 inscriptions from 1875 to 1927.

When I was trying to learn German several years ago, I spotted this cemetary and began to translate some of the headstones. An elderly lady walked up and talked with me. Her mutter and vatter (mother and father) are buried in the fenced in grave at the front of the cemetary. Although many of the graves are in disrepair, she and her family continue to take care of their small family plot and maintain the gravesite. There are many children buried on the hill in the back and in the spring the hill is covered with Lily of the Valley.
