Geocache Description:

This adventure cache is hidden at an elevation of approximately 3,650 feet, on the south ridge of Mt. Alice across the bay from Seward, and is intended for serious mountain hikers.
Park across from the trailhead at N60 06.982 W149 21.488. Follow the goat trail beyond the Mt Alice Hopscotch cache through a gorgeous alpine zone. Moss berries, blue berries, and flowers are thick in season. The final 400 feet is a steep scramble through loose scree rock to the top of the ridge.

The cache is a small watertight container tucked into a rock alcove. Only small items will fit.
There are a variety of interesting coins and pins to get the collection started, along with a wooden Round Tuit from lowrider 71's Chain Gang, a cricket clicker from Mexico, and a rubber cockroach.
The views in every direction will stop any breath you have left when you arrive. The top of Mt. Alice just up the ridge to the north, the upper Godwin Glacier and the spine of the Resurrection Peninsula to the east, the ocean waters of Blying Sound beyond the mountain islands blocking the entrance to Resurrection Bay to the south, and the miles of ice of the Harding Icefield backing the seaport of Seward to the west are all world-class scenic wonders.
Mountain goats seem to always be in the area; Geo barked at four on the day we dropped the cache.
The cache should be available in any season. The snow seems to blow clear of the beautiful viewpoint, so bring your snowshoes and ice axe, MTboy!
