You can park within a few hundred feet. You do not need to cross any fence or even any opening through a fence. That could result in your being "fenced out". There is a little slope, but it is an easy walk. No climbing is required, but you will be on your knees before you are done.
This is the sports park for the city of Hot Springs. You will find soccer fields, tennis courts, and baseball diamonds. No picnic areas here, only sports activities. I felt it only right that the sport of Geocaching join the more traditional activities here.
I had not been to the park in about ten years. I used to pick up my son there after his high school tennis team practice. I doubt that most people in Hot Springs know about the park unless they have raised children that were interested in sports. It is not on a main road and it is out of the way for most tourist ativities. Yet the park is so busy with sport activities that the city has recently approved the purchase of 30 acres for expansion.
The park is located at the back side of the Hot Springs airport. At times it is also a good place to watch airplanes taking off and landing. However, they will be high above you. I recommend that you visit the West Mountain overlook in the Hot Springs National Park. While there will be no geocaches, the view looking DOWN on the airplanes as they approach and depart to the East, is much more interesting and unusual.
