Geocache Description:

First things first. Do your homework and then you can go out and play.

HOMEWORK: Determine the coordinates of points A through F, following directions.

Point A: from N39 14.498 W76 51.140, go up 577 feet and out 61 feet.

Point B: from A, go up 370 feet and out 784 feet.

Point C: from B, go down 856 feet and out 2337 feet.

Point D: from C, go down 437 feet and out 1298 feet.

Point E: from D, go up 6 feet and back 1907 feet.

Point F: from E, go up 370 feet and back 906 feet.

As a check, from F go down 30 feet and back 1667 feet and you should arrive where you started at N39 14.498 W76 51.140.

If there is a need, consider the free program Fizzycalc (internet search) and use “high accuracy”.

PLAY: Identify the objects at points A through F. Assign a number to each point using the following correspondence.

0 = BRIDGE
1 = STEPS
2 = INFORMATION SIGN
3 = DRINKING FOUNTAIN
4 = TRASH CAN
5 = BENCH
6 = PICNIC TABLE
7 = ROCK
8 = DOCK
9 = AMPHITHEATER

The cache coordinates are N39 14.ABC W76 51.DEF . It is located in open woods.

(Note: Point F is along the path, on the side away from the lake, and it isn't a sign.)

Centennial Lake is a beautiful place and great for people watching. It is pretty “civilized” so dress accordingly (serious bushwacking attire not required). The total distance covered will be approximately 3 miles.
