Geocache Description:

This easy cache is an ammo box located on Pipestave Hill in West Newbury.

This cache is dedicated to my alma mater, Cardinal Cushing Academy, which closed its doors in 1972. My class, consisting of 21 students, was the last class to graduate. Fortunately, the town bought the buildings and surrounding land, converted the building into an elementary school (the John C. Page School) and opened the land across the street for public use.

The area is used for equestrian events, athletics and hiking. There is a large parking area and you can drive to within .10 of the cache! The trail will get you very close, but the foliage will make this more difficult in the summer. To find the trail, head downhill from parking diagonally to the right where there is a short, wide connecting path to the next field. Half way along this path the trail takes off to the left. There is now a geo-trail to gz at the sharp bend in the trail. The container is about 20' below the blowdown where the geo-trail peters out.
