The Disappearing Lake Traditional Cache
mudsneaker: With a heavy heart, this cache is fading away into history. I've enjoyed visiting it many times, and feel it's time for someone new to take over. Thanks go out to JacksonClan for stepping up, i wish them many years of great logs on their new cache that will replace this one.

A short and sweet looping trail with benches, viewpoint, and informative markers along the way, this handicap friendly nature preserve is well worth a visit. The actual cache is not wheelchair accessable though.
Lois Lake Habitat Preserve is 12 acres of lake, creek ,and woods located in the Woodland Creek Watershed. The City of Lacey aquired the land March 1, 1993 through a grant from Dept of Natural Resources Aquatic Enhancement account. The interprative signs were funded by the Dept of Fish & Wildlifes Urban Wildlife Program.
The Preserve adjoins the forested St. Martins campus as one of the few significant unfragmented forests in the City of Lacey. At the viewpoint is a great sign describing how this lake is slowly changing thus "disappearing".
EDIT: the interperative sign is gone. hopefully it will be restored.
Easy parking & trail access is located in the back corner of Safeway at N47.02.369 W122.47.942. Handicap access is about middle in the rear of Safeway. If you choose to complete the nearby "Lois Lake(GCTKDK)" first and want to stroll to this cache, cross Carpenter Rd at the stop sign and turn slightly right till you see the trail access.
*** There is no crosswalk ***
Drive to Safeway if thats a problem.
Have a great walk and have fun!
