THE GHOST TOWN CACHE IS THE MOST CHALLENGING OF THE SERIES – IT WILL JUSTIFY YOUR ADMISSION INTO THE HIGH PRIESTHOOD STATUS OF “GHOSTBUSTER”

The four caches of the series locations all have had allegations of haunting or spirit activity. There are various levels of documentation and incident descriptions available for each location. Some have been made into TV documentaries or Movies. You can decide for yourself if any of these are real or if in fact there are real live ghosts anywhere.

Cache 1 – Woodbury Episcopal Cemetery - (allegations of Haunting)
Cache 2 - Brookfield Based on the movie “The Demon Murder Case”
Cache 3 - Southington Based on TV Documentary “A Haunting in CT”
Cache 4 - Ghost Town (you will need to do your own internet search)

GHOST TOWN

This is a multi stage cache in which you will need to get the final coordinates by locating “THE GATE KEEPER” cache and his AMMO Can of trade items on the Larkin Bridle trail. But before you can locate the coordinates for “THE GATEKEEPER” you will need to visit the Gunntown Cemetery nearby for some information. The Gunntown Cemetery- is also known for being very haunted. Stage two (THE GATEKEEPER) is information only. - The log book and trade items are included in the Ammo Can.

Check out this paranormal investigation page which included Gunntown Cemetery (visit link)

GHOST TOWN:

STAGE 1 -"GUNNTOWN CEMETERY"– Proceed initially to the the Gunntown Cemetery in Naugatuck Connecticut at the above posted coordinates – Locate the monument for “JOBAMAH GUNN” and the year laid to rest.

STAGE 2 - "THE GATEKEEPER"

This stage is an offset cache format-ascertain the year laid to rest FROM STAGE 1 above and then use the formula below:

Stage 2- Coordinates are :

N 41 29.xxx (xxx = Year - 1247)
W 73 06.yyy (yyy = Year – 1549)

YOU DO NOT NEED TO MOVE ANY ROCKS! PLEASE DO NOT REHHIDE WITH ROCKS.

Once you locate the STAGE 2 Gatekeeper and the Ammo can caches you may log this cache as a "find". There are two containers at this location. The ammo can contains the log book and trade items and the Gate Keeper's container has the copies of the Stage 3 Mission Orders.

However if you want to achieve "GHOSTBUSTER" STATUS you will need to go on an adventure by an infamous old New England Ghost Town.

STAGE 3 - OPTIONAL MISSION FOR GHOSTBUSTER STATUS QUALIFICATION: (NOTE - THIS STAGE WILL BE PERMANENTLY DISCONTINUED- ALTHOUGH THIS STAGE WAS IN COMPLETE COMPLIANCE - WE HAVE ELECTED TO FORGO FURTHER RECOMMENDATIONS OF THIS LOCATION OUT OF CONCERN FOR THE PROPERTY OWNERS THAT ALLOW HIKING THROUGH THE AREA)

TERRAIN RATING FOR THIS STAGE IS A 4 - There is a long up hill HUMP from the parking area. ( A 1 TERRAIN ALTERNATIVE MAY BE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST- If you cannot do a 4 terrain hike please e-mail us for the alternative mission requirements.)

The GATEKEEPER's CACHE will provide you with the detailed requirements that you must fulfill to achieve GHOSTBUSTER STATUS Please take one copy of your mission orders from the Gatekeeper cache container - e-mail us when you complete your mission and post a note on the cache page.

STAGE 3 is a "VIRTUAL CACHE" format - there is no cache container of any kind - you will be required to proceed to a location and perform a simple task. The location is on a legally accessible public hiking trail. Please be mindful to obey all trail rules. Check the links on the mission orders for trail closure dates.

There are also other caches nearby which you can do while in the area.

Just to clear things up this is intended to be a reformat of the original listing (not a new cache) to be responsive to private property owner's concerns.

People that logged the cache previously can re-log a find if they want to at their discretion.

BE CAREFUL PARKING BY THE CEMETERY AND THE LARKIN BRIDLE TRAIL – You can park on the South Street parking area for the Bridle Trail.
