Zeche Hannover Mystery Cache

rolandum: Nach der Zeche Hannover wird heute auch der zugehörige Cache stillgelegt.
Hier ist in den letzten Jahren die Vegetation so dicht geworden dass der Blick durch das Fernrohr nun auch im Winter nicht mehr möglich ist. Peilen geht zwar weiterhin, aber das Besondere an der Versteckidee ist nicht mehr vorhanden.
Ich habe daher die Startstation und den Cache, der gut getarnt in seinem Versteckt lag, eingesammelt und so Platz für etwas Neues geschaffen.

Geocache Description:


Die Zeche Hannover wurde im Jahre 1973 als letzte Bochumer Zeche stillgelegt. Auf den noch erhaltenen Malakowturm zeigen die o.a. Koordinaten. Heute befindet sich in diesem Förderturm und in der angrenzenden Maschinenhalle eine Außenstelle des Westfälischen Industriemuseums. Sehenswert ist dort die an ihrem Originalstandort erhaltene dampfbetriebene Fördermaschine.

 Nicht weit vom Malakowturm entfernt befindet sich auf dem Zechengelände die besonders für Kinder interessante Zeche Knirps. Dort können Kinder in einem kleinen nachgebauten Bergwerk den Förderbetrieb einer Zeche spielerisch nachvollziehen.

 Der im Schatten des Malakowturms gelegene Biergarten hat leider nur an warmen Sommerwochenenden geöffnet, aber wenn ihr dann zufällig in der Gegend seid.....

 Und einen Cache gibt es jetzt auch wieder in der Nähe. Parkmöglichkeiten habe ich unten angegeben. Allerdings habe ich bei meinem letzten Besuch an der Cachelocation festgestellt, dass Parkplatz 2 abgesperrt war und wahrscheinlich nur zu den Öffnungszeiten des Museums benutzbar ist. Also ist Parkplatz 1 wohl die sichere Wahl.

 Um den Cache zu heben müsst ihr zunächst den Startpunkt ermitteln und dann einen dort versteckten Hinweis finden. Die oben angegebenen Koordinaten sind nicht der Startpunkt, sondern zeigen wie oben schon erwähnt nur auf den Malakowturm und werden bei der Cachesuche nicht benötigt. Ob ihr nun um zum Startpunkt zu kommen bei Parkplatz 1 (P1) oder beim genau nordwestlich vom Startpunkt gelegenen Parkplatz 2 (P2) losgeht ist letztlich egal. Laufen müsst ihr gleich weit. 

 Ach ja, bei  feuchter Witterung kann es auf dem Weg zum Cache schon ein wenig matschig sein, je nachdem welchen Weg ihr einschlagt.

"Zeche Hannover" was the last working coal mine in Bochum and was closed down in the year 1973. The coordinates above are the coordinates of the shaft tower which is still intact. The tower and the building close to it are now part of a museum called "Westfälisches Industriemuseum".

Only a few steps away from the tower you can find the "Zeche Knirps". This is a small "coal mine" especially build for children who can play mining there.

The beer garden in the museum is open at summer weekends only, but if you are in the area at the right time ......

And now there is a new cache to be found. The parking areas are mentioned at the bottom of the listing. During my last visit at the cache location I found out that parking area 2 was closed and is only open when there are events in the museum. So parking area 1 is probably the better choice.

To find the cache you have to calculate the coordinates of the starting point and to find the hidden hint there. As I have already mentioned before: the coordinates above are not the coordinates of the starting point and you don't need them for the hunt. It doesn't matter if you begin your walk at parking area 1 (P1) or at parking area 2 (P2) which is exactly northwest of the starting point. The distance you have to walk is the same.

During wet periods the trail to the cache could be a little muddy, but that depends on which way you choose. Please hide the hint in the same place you found it and make sure that it doesn't move.
