Este cache te lleva a los jardines del Real Sitio de la Granja de San Ildefonso.
En los jardines, que tienen similitudes con los jardines de Versailles, puedes encontrar 26 fuentes monumentales, todas ellas con fantasticos juegos de aguas y con personajes e historias mitologicas propias.
Podriamos decir que, al igual que la mitologia en Versailles esta dedicada a Apolo, que representa al sol, en la Granja esta dedicada a Diana, que representa a la luna.
Los jardines estan abiertos todos los dias del año de las 10:00 de la mañana hasta de la puesta del sol, variando desde las 18:00 horas en invierno hasta las 21:00 horas en verano.
Le entrada a los jardines es GRATUITA, excepto los dias que corren las monumentales fuentes. Estos son generalmente los miercoles, sabados y domingos entre las 15:00 horas y las 18:00 horas.
Por falta/ahorro de aqua tampoco estan cumpliendo siempre esa norma y asi puede pasar que en los mencionados dias/horarios no esten puestas en marcha las fuentes y la entrada sea gratuida.

En el centro de un estanque circular se levanta un peñasco de unos veinte metros de altura, en lo alto del cual se encuentra el caballo alado Pegaso, montado por La Fama, que pregona con su trompeta sus noticias por todo el mundo.
Por el peñasco caen derrotados sus enemigos: La Calumnia, La Falsedad, la Malignidad y el Engaño.
Detrás de la fuente hay dos damas en blanco, mirandose. La de la izquierda es DIANA.

Stage 2: Plaza de las Ocho Calles

Se llama así a una gran plaza circular donde concurren ocho calles. En el centro de la plaza hay un pedestal de forma octogonal en marmol blanco, donde se asienta un grupo de figuras que representan a Psiquis con el pomo de la belleza y a Mercurio con el Caduceo, con ellos un ceferillo que ayuda a Psiquis a elevarse para alejarse de los infiernos.
Alrededor y entre las calles, recostados bajo los arcos estan las figuras de los siguientes dioses o héroes: Saturno, Minerva, Hercules, Ceres, Neptuno, La Victoria, Marte y Cibeles.
Mira las figuras de los dioses y héroes. Uno de aquellos tiene a sus pies criaturas grandes, parecidas a ciervos, otros tienen otras criaturas a sus pies.

Andromeda encadenada, esta a punto de ser devorada por un monstruo marino, en ese momento Perseo, con el casco de Hades, las sandalias de Mercurio y la cabeza de la Medusa, se dispone a salvarla. Minerva, con su egida y su lanza le protege.
Muy cerca de Andromeda se encuentra ocho esculpturas blancas, formando un medio circulo. Una de aquellas, EL POEMA LIRICO, tiene un instrumento de cuerda.

This cache will bring you to the gardens of the Real Sitio de la Granja de San Ildefonso.
In the gardens, which have similarities to the gardens of Versailles, you can find 26 monumental fountains, each of them with fantastic water games and with mythological personalities and histories.
We could say, that like the mythology in Versailles is dedicated to Apollo, representing the sun, in La Granja it is dedicated to Diana, who represents the moon.
The gardens are open every day of the year from 10:00 in the morning until the sun goes down, varying from 6:00 pm in winter and 9:00 pm during summer.
The entrance to the gardens is FREE, except on the days when the monumental fountains are active. These are in general wednesday, saturday and sunday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Because of lack/saving of water not always on these days the big fountains are active, so it can happen, that also on these days the entrance is free.

In the center of a round pond there is a large rock of about twenty meters of height. On the top of the rock you can see the Fame riding the horse Pegasos, announcing news to the world with his trumped. Around the rock are his fallen enemies: Calumny, Falseness, Viciousness and Deception.

It is called this way, because it is a huge place where eight streets come together. In the center of the place there is an octogonal pedestal in white marble, where a group of figures are seated, Mercure and Psyche.
Around and between the incoming streets, below arches, are the figures of the following gods and heroes: Saturn, Minerva, Herkules, Ceres, Neptune, Victory, Mars and Cybele.
Look to the figures of the gods and heroes. One of them has beside its feed big creatures, similar to deers. Others have other types of creatures beside their feed.

Andromeda in chains is in the point of being eaten by a maritime monster. In this moment Perseos with the helmet of Hades, the sandals of Mercure and the head of Medusa gets ready to save her. Minerva, with her aegis and her spear protects him.
Close to Andromeda you will find eight white sculptures in a half circle. One of them, EL POEMA LIRICO, has a stringed instrument.
