Geocache Description:

This cache is in an area known as Hulne Park on the outskirts of Alnwick. Free parking is available on Canongate (see below for co-ordinates), and a map of the park is just inside the gate.
The cache is situated on the Blue Walk and the signposts are easy to follow. This walk circles the top of a hill so expect a climb,excellent veiws,Red Squirrel Bridges, Caves, Statues,Peacocks and Brizlee Tower.

The 1st part of the walk is along a road so take care and look out for the Squirrels. After a mile or so, the path continues past a farm on your right then turns left beside a road bridge and heads uphill. At the brow, the path forks.We suggest you follow the path to the left, past the statues and cave on your right and the small lake on your left, until you reach a crossroads. Turn right here and follow the path. After a short while the trees thin out and you come to a seat.
The seat is reputed to be where the Queen Mother sat to enjoy the veiw while visiting the current Duke. This was the original cache area so you could enjoy the view while looking but theres some excavation going on so take care in this area.
Continue on the same path through the trees until you reach a clearing with the tower on your left.
The Tower was built by the 1st Duke of Northumberland in 1777 so he could look out over the parkland designed by Capability Brown. The Inscription translates as
"Look around!I have measured out all these things,they are my orders,it is my planting.Many of these trees have been planted by my hand."
