Geocache Description:

You must go through the gate at S29 05 50.8 E26 11 21.7 to gain entrance to the site. You will require ID documents, tell them you are visiting the SA Armour Museum. The gate at S29 05 46.8 E26 12 10.5 is not always open.

The building dates from the Anglo-Boer War and was used as a Military Hospital for many years. Pay a visit to the Rooidam Military Cemetery - GC183KC. Later years it was the Isolation Hospital.

The cache is a round container, inside a log book and pen. Also sign the visitors book, (this is a short distance from the cache) leave your name and comments. You are most welcome to take photographs of the building and museum vehicles along the roads.

The cache can be reached during office hours (08:00 - 16:00 CAT) Monday to Friday. There is parking near the cache, you must walk the last bit.

Visit the Gun Barrel - the Museum Shop in the same building.

Speak to WO 1 Sieg Marais about visiting Hull Down and Lesakeng. The Musuem has about 62 Museum vehicles and a number of these are in a running condition. The Museum's T-72 was part of the mini-war at the SAAF Museum's "From Canvas to Jets" air show on 21 May 2011 at AFB Swartkops.
