Geocache Description:

The above coordinates are not for the cache but will take you to Entwistle station on the Blackburn to Bolton line, which also happens to be the nearest station to the cache. You do not need to visit this location to find the cache!

To find the cache itself you need to identiy the picturesque location pictured below in 1957, and go there.

The signal box and sidings have long gone, and you're unlikely to see any steam locomotives apart from the odd railtour once or twice a year, but the footbridge remains although today only crosses one track instead of four. I've also uploaded a couple of current pictures to help you with your search.

Once at the location, you need to go to the East side of the bridge. Turn right when you come down the steps, and look for the wooden stile - the cache is hidden underneath. Easy!! Please note that you do not need to cross the stile.

Struggling? You could always take a trip on the railway and look out for the bridge...

WARNING - DO NOT TRESPASS ON THE RAILWAY LINE!!
