I’ve had many husbands. Quite a crowd. More than ten, for crying
out loud. But for all the times that I’ve been a wife, I’ve also
been a widow for most of my life. Marriage always starts lovely, as
well as can be. But then goes sour, as you will see. For rather
than romance, dinner, and wine, he’s got a new hobby occupying his
mind. It’s quite the addiction, worse than ale. It hooks him in
without fail. And I’m a geocache widow, home sorting socks, while
he’s traipsing round, turning up rocks. We don’t go to movies, or
snuggle together—he’s out finding caches, the more, the better! As
you may guess this has turned me quite sour, cantankerous, oh,
quite dour. For when he’s out upon the roam, he seems to forget he
has a home! And then (again) when he can’t even call! My mood takes
a new turn, it becomes— diabolical. If it weren’t for this
hobby, we would have been fine. Celebrating anniversaries, drinking
up wine. Instead, I’ve been stuck with a couple of snakes, numerous
grubs. . .worms. . .how much should I take? Thank heavens for my
motto that’s stood me in good stead: If you simply can’t beat
‘em, Then whack ‘em on the head! CACHE CONTENTS: Diabolical
Widow spiders (a poisonous trademark) /rattle snake /box of grubs/
several worms /poison ring /revolver /cast off wedding rings
/Husband brain (curiously small) /Diabolical Widow travel bug /log
book/ pencil / Have a diabolical time!
