This cache is located near the Bench Trail of Mount Nebo State Park. This trail is a multi-use trail used by hikers and mountain bikers. It is suitable for beginning mountain bikers or seasoned veterans who can take advantage of it's gravity thrills. It is a wide, clean trail resembling a country road. Dinosaur Bones on the Bench is also located along this trail. Trail is posted at open from 6AM to 10PM, heed the signs.
This cache is a 30 cal camoed ammo can located a few hundred feet off the trail. It is a fairly level walk. I put it far enough away that a path would not develop and you have privacy from the trail. If you bike to the cache, please log it that way. If it is a nice day, there will be folks on the trail-biking, running or just hiking.
The trail is a loop accessed from many intersecting trails to the top of the mountain. Two normal parking spots for the trail are located at N35°13.254'/ W093°14.892' and N35°13.464' / W93°14.950'. The best hike for exercise is taking the outer, less traveled loop of the trail that contains the hike-in camp sites. This gives you the full loop distance of about 4 miles. Bushwhacking to the cache from the top is almost impossible (dangerous and insane) but a trail map will show the easiest way if you are camping or staying in a cabin and want to make a real hike of it. The flattest (and shortest) way in is on the Bench Road Trail.
There is an interesting tree on the trail near the cache. It is located at N35°12.825', W93°15.589'. It is a left over from when hunting was allowed below the top of the mountain. I have nicknamed the tree "SPIKE".
