Sum Assembly Required Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Sam and Jess: We have decided to archive this cache. The cache containers to reconstruct it will cost over $40. The risk of it being muggled again are too great. Special Thanks to all who visited and enjoyed it. Sam and Jess

Geocache Description:

Sum Assembly Required is deliberately “misspelled” because the title is already taken by another cache. This is a very short multi cache with an “ ASSEMBLY PUZZLE” that must be carefully disassembled and reassembled to acquire the final coordinates. The ratings are due to some GPS’r bounce and debris in the terrain.

Easy access just off route 30 west of Sleepy Hollow. You can cross over from Rt. 30 east to the west bound side, at the Sleepy Hollow Crossing if the bridge is not flooded. This cache is our third cache near the Loyalhanna Creek. Total walking distance is less than 200 yards. The object of this cache is to bring you to an old piece of history and have some fun. This cache is located in an old abandoned brick yard known as the Keener Brick Yard. We do not have a lot of details about it except that it was serviced by the Ligonier Valley Railroad. Parking coordinates are 40.17.479 and 079.19.662. This is a busy section of Route 30 so please be aware of passing vehicles. This should place you about 80' from the first stage. Watch your step for bricks, rocks and debris. If you brought along small children hang on to them so they don’t trip and sprain an ankle. First stage container is a large flat black ammo box that contains the puzzle. We recommend that you carry it toward the hillside where you will be better concealed from muggles so you can disassemble and reassemble it. It will take a few minutes to solve the puzzle. The second piece of the puzzle is a little difficult to secure into the larger piece. The idea of this puzzle came from a party gag so we hope you have a sense of humor. Please be sure to put the puzzle back together exactly the same way as it came apart and PLEASE do not remove the final stage coordinates. The final cache is a flat black 50 cal. Ammo box. We hope that you enjoy it.
