Located in a large city park
The newly refurbished Geoff Hickey Pavilion was opened in August completing a four and a half year project between the City of Stonnington and the local community.
The works to the Pavilion completed the Orrong Romanis Masterplan, a $3 million project that has significantly enhanced this site while providing responsive services and facilities for our residents and sports users.
The Masterplan, adopted in 2000, involved extensive consultation and input from the community and user groups to ensure that it encompassed the needs of all users – both passive and active recreational users.
The Masterplan has included upgrading the recreation centre, the installation of three new practice cricket wickets and extensive landscaping and planting throughout the surrounding parkland.
Other works include a walking track around the perimeter of the park, a small embankment along Molesworth Street which provides a view of the sports field, upgrade to the playground and the BBQ, picnic area and public toilets.
The cache is a 1.2 litre Sistema clip lid. It is hidden and camouflaged to suit the area.
There are a total of 3 close proximity waypoints, including the final cache location. Make sure you carefully read all of the location information below or you may be stuck for a while.
The initial co-ordinates put you on one of the local seats. The attached plaque contains the clues to the 2nd waypoint.
A=the number of words before (not including) "(host)".
BCDE=the year of the Plaque.
Update: Nov 2015 - Due to damage to the original plaque I am going to give you those answers that you need - If the plaque has been restored and I no longer need to include these answers please tell me. A=8, C=9, D=9
The second waypoint is S37 51.0AC, E 145 00.62D.
The second waypoint places you in front of another local plaque. The age of the building appears to be at odds with the date on the plaque!
However, the final waypoint can be found as follows:
F=number of letters in CR Lux's first name
GHIJ=the year the pavillion opened
K=the number of times CR Johnson is mentioned
LMNP=the year the pavillion was refurbished
The final waypoint is then S37 51.(H-J)0K, E 145 00.(G+I)BF
