Barcode and the Beast Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Icarus.: I'm afraid this has been muggled, so reluctantly having to archive. It's a pity as there was a TB in it, which I have marked as missing.

To find the cache you need to solve the clues.

Barcodes were conceived in 1948, but weren't used in supermarkets until 1974. Widespread use didn't occur until 1981 when the US defense department adopted the barcode for the supply of military goods.

Barcodes are seen by some as the work of evil as they all contain the numbers 666 - the number of the beast. The two lines known as 'guard bars' each end and in the middle of the barcode being the same width and spacing as the lines for a barcoded numeral six.

The Book of Revelations 13:16-18 reads:
"And he causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a Mark on their right hand or foreheads, and that no man may buy or sell except one who has the Mark or the name of the Beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the Beast, for it is the number of man; and his number is six hundred three-score and six".

In a further conspiracy we are told that barcodes were introduced by aliens as a ready way to identify us, and the technology, as with other alien technologies, has spread to general use.

An example of an alien barcode, the same type as found amongst the UFO wreckage at Roswell in 1947 is shown below with other 'normal' barcodes.

Once you have solved the clues you will find an ammo box filled with the usual stuff. The area is frequented by muggles, especially on sunny days, so please take care when retrieving the cache.

Anyone who can tell me the name of the alien font used will be looked upon favourably for help!
