"This is named for the spring house that is in front of the farm house to the right of this cache. Several years ago I attended a presentation on the Underground Railroad held at the Gettysburg National Battle Field. The University Professor presented a slide show on stopping off sites used by the slaves traveling north to Canada during the Civil War. This spring House that sits in front of the farm house was used as a stop over site for water and rest as the slaves traveled north to Canada and freedom.
The spring house is on Private property, please DO NOT walk over to the spring house. Parking is very limited. This is a cache and dash and no need to enter private property to get to the cache! Bring your own pen!
