When I first started caching a couple of years ago, my 2nd hide, A Historic Church, was a multi within the nearby church grounds and cemetery. Unfotunately, due to the circumstances beyond my control, I had to archive that cache. Since I think there is a lot of history to be found in this area, I decided to place a new cache here. This cache is not located within the church cemetery or on church grounds.

Not far from the banks of the Great Pee Dee River, there stands a very old building. It’s windows have looked out on the passage of more than 200 years; its walls have sheltered the soldiers of four armies. It has survived wars, lightning, and tornadoes, and still it keeps quiet sentinel on the people of Cheraw.”
The Old St. David's Church is an Anglican or "state" church built in South Carolina under King George III. The church was used by the Americans and the British during the Revolution, and later by both the Confederate and Union armies. There are soldiers from every American War buried in the cemetery. The steeple and vestibule were added in 1826 and services were held here until a new church was built in 1916."
For those that are interested, you can visit the Cheraw Visitors Bureau just a few short blocks away and obtain a key to see the interior of the church.
Nearby is the Confederate Monument at Old St. David's Cemetery (c. 1867)

The first monument ever erected in memory of those who had fallen in the Confederate War. The original inscription did not mention Confederate soldiers directly since Union forces still occupied the area.
This cache is smaller than a bison tube, and shouldn't be too difficult to find since I think the nearby area is interesting enough.
Have fun and enjoy the advenure!
