This mystery cache will take you on a tour of some of my favourite fishing spots. These are great spots to rest and enjoy the views!
The four sets of coordinates below mark the parking areas where you will start your search. You will need to collect your own four waypoints (one near each of the locations below) before you will be able to locate the final cache. The clues provided will help you decide exactly where to mark your waypoints.
Note: The first four points are easy to access and would rate as terrain 1.5. The final cache location is terrain 3. The difficulty rating for finding the final cache will be increased significantly if you don’t have a mapping program on your GPS or computer.

Find a seat and mark a waypoint while thinking of Ted and Daisy Dove. This beautiful spot overlooks one of my favourite areas to jig for salmon.
Parking Lot Coordinates: N48 35.758 W123 23.493
Find a seat and mark a waypoint while thinking of Helen L. Wooding. I like to come to this scenic spot and fly-fish for Sea-run Cutthroat trout along the beach.
Parking Lot Coordinates: N48 25.333 W123 25.121
Find a seat and mark a waypoint while thinking of Steve and Doris Dobish. I prefer to look out on this beautiful stretch of water and think of the many salmon fishing trips I’ve enjoyed along the Victoria Waterfront, Albert Head and Pedder Bay.

Find a seat and mark a waypoint and enjoy one of the most scenic salmon fishing spots on southern Vancouver Island. Sorry, no dedication on this one… but you might want to bring a picnic basket!
Now that you have gathered your four waypoints, I will take you to the final destination which also happens to be one of my favourite trout fishing spots. Use the four waypoints to make an X (join the dots). To calculate the coordinates of the final cache, X marks the spot (really!). Enjoy the view!
