This cache has been archived.

SunDancers!: Thanks for all the nice folks that contributed and attended the Fun Day Event. Enjoyed placeing faces with some of the handles. We do hope to be able to carry this further.
With the great response we had this time looks like we can do this.

Geocache Description:

Drive Right Up, Set Right Down, and Make Yourself Welcome to the Fun Loving Folks Here to Do Some Caching and Make Friends

Saturday May 6, 2006
San Angelo State Park-- North Concho Pavilion
11:00am start time

Spring is in the air and cabin fever is rampant. We are tired of being boxed up for the winter so join us in a GEO FUN DAY OF CACHING AT SAN ANGELO STATE PARK. We are fortunate to have over 200 Geocaches within just 50 miles of San Angelo for your enjoyment and torment. LOL Cachers from Abilene, Midland, and Odessa and even as far away as Austin and San Antonio frequent the area because of the great hiding places and the high number of caches for their pleasure.

Our desire is to have a simple family event at the Equestrian area in the San Angelo State Park (SASP) on May 6, 2006. (Did you know there are more than 40 caches in the SASP?) These caches provide you with some fantastic views and are incorporated with some great trails for hiking.

Some cachers have indicated they might arrive Friday afternoon and camp in the area. This is great as we will also be on hand Friday afternoon. Both tent and rv services are available. You might bring a wiener and bun. Can't ever tell what we might cook up around here. At other day events, cachers have stayed over to grab several smilies and that can certainly be done here.

Quick stop food is available about 1 to 2 miles away. Restaurants with some fantastic food are a little further toward town. Charcoal/wood grills are available all around the park. Lots of large Pecan trees and covered picnic tables to enjoy with potable water available. The event is expected to be flexible to accommodate your family's schedule.

Please let us know you are coming Keep us posted

Entry to the State Park requires an Annual Pass or $2.00 per day per person. Children 12 and under Free Qualifing Seniors $1.00 per day. RV Camping $18.00 per day, Tent camping $8.00 per day
