El Chupacabra - Means "the goat sucker" in Spanish. First spotted in Puerto Rico in 1994, the Chupacabra has since migrated off the island and has recently been spotted in many locations including South America as well as the US. Now the Chupacabra has been spotted hiding out near the Erie House Ruins.
Donde Esta Chupacabra? ( where is the chupacabra?) That is the famous question that gave me the nickname chupacabra when I was in Costa Rica studying biology. Now its time to find him/her. You can find access to this cache from a few hiking trails or an access road that is open seasonly. If the gate is closed the walk is really not that bad. The main attraction to this cache is the Erie house Ruins. A very popular spot for sight seeing. Cache is located a ways off the trail with some minor bushwacking involved. Once off trail ground is rocky and uneven, take caution when seeking.
There used to be a cache up here a few years ago and it was muggled, this one is tucked away where I dont believe it should be discovered by a non-geocacher.
Cache container is simple with logbook and a Jeep TB for FTF. A few rules do apply here. Do not take TB's, coins, Jeeps, or any trackable item unless you plan on leaving one of equal or greater value. (exception for FTF) If you find that your coords were a bit off from the posted coords, then POST WHAT YOU HAD FOR COORDS! dont complain and not do anything to help the other cachers. There are no hints for this one as my hints are in the pictures I posted for this cache.
I AM CURRENTLY STATIONED OVERSEAS IN THE MILITARY. I HAVE TRIED TO FIND PEOPLE TO CO-OWN MY CACHES AND HELP WITH THE MAINTENANCE, HOWEVER HAVE HAD NO LUCK.
