Jærhuset i Knudaheio var Arne Garborg sitt sommerbosted fra 1899 til 1923. Her kunne han arbeide i fred og ro ei tid hver sommer. Hans kone, Hulda, syntest det var for ensomt der, så vanlgvis var Arne der aleine. Arne Garborg døde i 1924, 73 år gammel, og ble begravet på Knudaheio. Da kona, Hulda Garborg, døde i 1934, fikk hun også sitt kvilested her. Huset i Knudaheio er som det var da dikteren budde der, og innredning og inventar er autentisk. Knudaheio er åpen for besøkende søn- og helligdager kl. 12.00 til 17.00 fra palmesøndag til ut i september. I juli og halve august er det åpent hver dag, også nå kl. 12.00 til 17.00. Ved N 58° 40.676 E 005° 47.340 (UTM 32V 313846 6508648) er en stor parkeringsplass. Fra RV44 ved Bryne: Kjør østover RV506, ta av sørover RV505 til Undheim der du følger veiviserskiltet til Knudaheio. Fra E39 ved Bue: Ta av vestover RV504 og noe senere nordover RV505 til Undheim. Cachen er gjemt noe sørfor huset. Vær grei og arranger gjemmestedet på same måte etter besøket. Vær obs – stor mulighet for mugglers! –––––––––––––– “Knudaheio” was the summer cottage where the author Arne Garborg wrote in peace and quiet from 1899 to 1923. The countrypeople used always the nickname Aadne. His wife, Hulda Garborg, felt the place was too solitary, and usually Arne stayed there alone. Arne Garborg died in 1924, 73 years old, and was buried at his cottage. When his wife died in 1934, she also got her final resting place here. The cottage at Knudaheio is today exactly as it was when the author stayed there, interior and furniture are authentic. Knudaheio is open for visitors Sundays and holidays 12 to 5 P.M. from Palm Sunday to the middle of September. In July and half of August it is open every day at 12 to 5 P.M. How to find it? From RV44 at Bryne: Drive eastwards on RV506, drive off into RV505 southwards to Undheim where you follow the sign to Knudaheio. From E39 at Bue: Drive off westwards on RV504 and after a while into RV505 to Undheim. At N 58° 40.676 E 005° 47.340 (UTM 32V 313846 6508648) you will find a spacious parking place and Info board. The cache is hidden a little south of the cottage. Please, arrange the hiding place as the same way after your visit. Be aware for mugglers!
