30 Cal Ammo Can. Steep, rocky, general prairie terrian including
grass, weeds, sandy uneven soil and rare but occasional snake. Use
caution but short walk.
This is a perfect fit for my Oregon Trail cache series.
A very historicn area and peaceful setting. This peacful valley was
the first trees and fresh water that the pioneers had seen for
sometime. Many parties spent a few days here after the steep drop
into the valley at windlass hill. Take time to visit the historic
parks and signs nearby. The North Platte river and many species of
birds are easily seen from the cache location. In early spring you
may even see part of the great sandhill crane migration as some
flocks stop here and not further east. Please rehide well and keep
an eye out for onlookers. Be respectful of the nearby cemetary -
cache IS NOT in cemetary. This is named as #2 in honor of one of
the first caches I ever found 4+ years ago nearby but now long
gone. Enjoy!!
